How is history from the past repeated in the present just differently?

connect 2 differnt events that happened, one from past 1800s too present time, and how they relate towards each other. Ex: my friend is doing her's on, how would people react to alien coming to earth to how the Native Americans felt towards the white man coming to their land (white man is the aliens and the native americans are the people now). please help, its major points in my world history class, we get extra points if we do something that is after WWI.
