Should liberals be nervous about the rising numbers of immigrants since they're usually socially conservative?

Hispanics might vote Democrat but they are typically serious Catholics and are pro-choice. African immigrants, the second largest immigrant population, are even more family oriented and not likely to support things like gay marriage. So, is the Democratic and liberal idea that immigrants will automatically support them as their numbers grow unfounded? Do they have a plan for bringing them into the fold?
