How to use Delta Monitor Shower faucet?

I just moved into my new apartment and am wanting to take a shower but I don't know how to get the water flow to come out of the shower head. The shower is a Delta Monitor shower. The handle to adjust the hot and cold water doesnt seem to move up or down, or push in or out. There isn't a knob on the faucet itself to pull up to creat the shower head water flow. There is a knob at the bottom of the tub to stop the drainage to create a bath. But that seems to be it. Please someone help me?!?! Thanks!
